Raja Ampat is a very beautiful destination for tourists who like to see beautiful marine scenery, swim over colorful coral reef and walk along white sandy beach or watch the wonderful dance of Red Bird of Paradise and other tropical birds and unique tropical plants of the regency. Day 1 (lunch, dinner)
We will meet tour participants in Sorong city and then organise their transfer to harbor by car and then by fast passenger ferry to Waigeo island of Raja Ampat. Arriving at the harbor, tour participants will be transfered to a guesthouse for them to take a rest. In the afternoon, birding walk can be organized around the guesthouse to see Willie Wagtail, Mimic Meliphaga, Spangled Drongo, Eclectus Parrot, Hooded Butcherbird, Palm Cockatoo and Sulphur-crested Cockatoo.

Day 2 (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Early in the morning, at 04.30, we will need to wake up and make preparations such as wearing t-shirt and long pants, applying anti insect lotion and making sure that all the birding equipments are already inside the bag. After having tea/ coffee and some biscuits, we will leave our guesthouse for a beach in the south of Waigeo. We will start hiking to hill forest for one hour. When we arrive, our watch may indicate 06.00. It is the time when Red Bird of Paradise begin to dance. We will watch them until 09.00 and then slowly walk down the slopes of the hill to the beach again. Back to the guesthouse, we will take a rest. Snorkeling at the house reef can be done. After lunch, birding along the main road is a good activity for visitors to see birds such as Helmetted Friarbird, Pinon Imperial Pigeon, Rufous-bellied Kookaburra, Brahminy Kite, Eastern Osprey and a lot of other birds that make the Waigeo island as their natural habitat.

Day 4 (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Birding by car to area in the west of airport area and to area along the north east of Raja Ampat. Here, we will use binoculars and spotting scope to watch tropical birds such as Yellow-faced Myna, Pied Imperial Pigeon, White-breasted Wood-Swallow, Yellow-faced Pigmy Parrot, and etc.

Day 5 (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Sightseeing boat tour to sandbar, Piaynemo karst. Boat trip will take around two hours to reach the karst. In bad weather condition, we will go to alternative site such as Wawiyai karst that also has got very beautiful scenery.
Arriving at the karst, we still need to go hiking to the top of one of the islets. From this view point, we enjoy the natural beauty of Raja Ampat.

Day 6 (Breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Snorkeling in Mioskon or Friwen

Day 7 (Breakfast, lunch)
Early in the morning, we will go hiking to the hill behind the homestay and see the scenery as well as watch tropical birds that fly over the forest or sit on its canopy.
After that, we will have lunch.  At around 12.00, we will check out of the homestay, and leave for Waisai harbor to take fast ferry boat to Sorong city, and then to hotel by car.

How to get to Raja Ampat islands
  • First, you need to fly from your country to Jakarta (the capital of Indonesia)
  • After that you need to continue your trip by flying to Sorong city. Domestic airlines such as Garuda, Sriwijaya and Batik Air have got regular flights between Jakarta and Sorong city. I could meet you at the airport and organize your trip to Raja Ampat.
